SUCCESS! I downloaded the most recent as well as upgraded to 2023.2.2 and now Cargo works. It's currently showing what I own-BUT it doesnt show what was given to me thru the Otoy promo (where I have 4 promo sets). I already downloaded those to my computer-but I thought it would be nice to pull from those thru the Cargo plugin rather than opening the files and copying them over.
But that is a little thing. THank you for helping out on this issue.

Phillip Valdez: I'm glad this is now working for you as intended!
Regarding your Otoy Kits, those are Special Edition Kits which unfortunately aren't available in Cargo.
The Otoy Kits are complimentary for Octane Subscribers as part of a special promotion from Otoy. This promotion is limited to the software formats that are supported by Otoy.
If you'd like to access other software versions, you will need to purchase the Kit from KitBash3D.com or subscribe to Cargo Pro for access to every KitBash3D asset to use with several supported software options.

Merged in a post:
C4d 2023 plugin (finally work, look at description here!!!)
Антон Ковалевский
Version 1.0.9.
The plugin doesn't appear in extentions in 2023.2.2, but it works for Cinema 26 and 3Dmax 2022
Антон Ковалевский
It starts working if manually copy the folder "cargo" with plugin to CInema plugins folder!
From here:
C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\kitbash3d\plugins\cinema4d\2023
to here:
C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Maxon\Maxon Cinema 4D 2023_BCDB4759 (your folder_name)\plugins.
Waiting a reward for beta-testing )))

Антон Ковалевский: If it matters, mine has worked in C4D from 1.0.7 through 1.0.10 using this pathway:
C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\kitbash3d\plugins\cinema4d\2023\Cargo
I've checked using Listary and the Cargo.xdl64 file and the Cargo.xdl64.manifest files don't exist anywhere else on my system.
It even updates those files properly using the app's "update plugins" notice.

Phillip Valdez Thomas DeCarlo, thank you both for posting about this bug! We've been working hard on addressing multiple fixes within Cargo and released another update the other day. Could you both try updating to the latest version of Cargo, v1.0.8, and try again?
Please let me know if the issue still persists so our engineering team can further investigate.

Shelby Goldstein: No luck for me with 1.0.8. This could be a file access issue because Windows typically prompts me for Admin access when an app wants to place files in Program Files (where the C4D plugins folder is) and I get no prompt from Cargo while "installing" the plugin. I do get a Cargo popup at the end of the install that says "Download Completed for KB3D_DKF_BldgLG_F_grp" if that helps.
I attempted to manually copy the C4D2023 plugin from the Cargo>resources folder to my C4D plugins folder (fairly common procedure for plugins), but that did not work either.

Thomas DeCarlo: Thank you for following up with that additional information. Our C4d experts are going to take a deeper look into what might be happening here. They will follow up with you here with more insight or follow-up questions.

Shelby Goldstein: v1.0.8 doesn`t work... same problem. Finds the C4d, but nothing is in C4d.

now with 1.0.9. also no work

Dirk Sander: Thank you for trying the update and following up with this info! Our C4d experts are investigating to try and reproduce the issue to see what the root cause might be. They will follow up here once they are able to dive in. In the meantime, I'd recommend trying a different version that Cargo supports to see if that resolves things temporarily. Cargo currently also supports R25 and R26.

Thomas DeCarlo: I believe the plugins should be installed here: C:\Users\Your profile name\AppData\Roaming\kitbash3d\plugins\cinema4d\2023\cargo
All of the released versions have worked on my C4D 2023.2.2.
I searched my harddrives and none of the plugins were installed in my C4D plugins folder(s) or in the Maxon plugins folder in appdata. And the plugins folder in the Cargo resources folder on Program Files just contains zipped versions for each C4D version (probably for installation.)
Worth a shot to look in that appdata folder. Picture is of mine.

Brian Cochran: I upgraded C4D to 2023.2 and the extension worked, but C4D hangs on import - which is a separate issue.
B
Brian Cochran
Thomas DeCarlo: Don't know if this will help, but my Cargo imports would hang on import if I used .jpgs. Once I switched to .pngs as the textures, they imported fine.
T
Thomas DeCarlo
Brian Cochran: That is exactly what the issue was! Hung on material import.
B
Brian Cochran
Thomas DeCarlo: So it imports now? With pngs?
T
Thomas DeCarlo
Brian Cochran: Yep. Using C4D 2023.2.2.
B
Brian Cochran
Thomas DeCarlo: Glad to hear, Thomas. Thank you for confirming.

Same. I downloaded a fresh copy of Cargo 1.0.7 and after the "Basic" install, no Extension appeared in C4D 2023.1.3 on Win11. "Advanced Install" didn't work at all, saying it couldn't find the application.
