I had already selected octane as my active renderer, it still brings in all the materials as standard c4d materials

When importing models, the textures all com in as standard c4d textures and not octane materials.
I made sure to have octane render selected as my renderer before importing, but still doesn't seem to work. I even tried disconnecting the plugin, making sure octane was the active renderer, then reconnecting the plugin, but the textures on the objects still come in as standard c4d materials

Octane Material not importing

Fails to import as octane materials even though renderer setup to be Octane and extension window set to Octane. Only gives me default C4D materials. Very frustrating, I'll be emailing the team because I need this to work for a project due to its convenience, but it's not doing a good job at making things efficient.

I still have this problem in c4d 2024.

Jared Sales: For the time being can you select another render engine in C4D, click "connect", then switch back to Octane and click connect? Then, try re-importing the asset.

Elaine Deveney I’m still having this problem. Very frustrating. Don’t think I’ll be renewing my sub as this is very frustrating.

Hi Robert!
We're sorry to hear you're having trouble with Cargo.
To try and fix your problem I would suggest trying the following:
- Make sure your Cargo plugin is correctly installed and connected to Cinema 4D
- Try again by selecting Octane as your render engine before importing any models.
If that doesn't work I would suggest deleting the plugin from C4D, uninstalling the Cargo app and then do the reinstall process from scratch.
Let us know if that works and if you keep having issues.
Cheers!
